A Star Wars/Dark Forces themed gameplay mod for GZDoom. Taking elements from both Star Wars cannon and legends. Replaces all weapons, enemies and items with Star Wars themed assets. Gameplay is changed quite a lot, but attempts to keep some of the balance of Doom. Most projectiles are 3d models of Star Wars blaster effects. Infighting is also rare and usually only happens between imperials, aliens and bounty hunters (they won't attack their own team). The Icon of Sin is also replaced with a more traditional boss enemy, Emperor Palpatine. You can play as Kyle Katarn or Mara Jade and find lightsabers and unlock force powers, or you can start off as a Jedi. You can also go without the force and play as a rebel trooper or smuggler, each with their own starting weapons, or even go adventurous as the Mandalorian armed with a wrist launcher that boasts several different abilities.

will we ever have an up-to-date enemies-only patch?
I should have one coming soon
HONKING BRUCE!
also, will you ever add a reload mechanic option for the weapons? I'm just so used to reloading my guns even in star wars games, it just feels weird not to reload.
Hmmm, maybe. I do enjoy reloading myself. I'd want reloading to be optional, rather than built in, which might be tricky. Reloading animations would be way too hard to do, so I'd probably go with Battlefront/Goldeneye style reloading if I did add the feature.
you mean like lowering the weapon where we can't see the bottom, and we only hear the changing of the mags? make sense, considering you would have to add new animations for each gun otherwise.
Yeah, pretty much that, it's how reloading worked in classic Battlefront. I'd also have to make a new hud, or at least add a clip counter somewhere. This could be a possible in a future update. I was thinking of eventually re-coding the weapons and force powers to work a little better, so maybe I can try and work in a reloading system for it too like in my Doom3 style mod. But I still want to have reloading optional for players who prefer to play without it. But adding reloading might end up turning into a big update that could take a while.
I think there's an addon where it gives you the hud from your mod for vanilla and it has a clip counter and how much ammo you have in total.
Any chance we are going to get a patch, allowing to play "dark" side of the conflict?
I would love to be able to run around with Dooku lightsaber, or with magnaguard class
Maybe, I might try and put together some sort of dark side patch. Right now the best I've got is setting the enemies to rebels and then using a red lightsaber.
Minor update : Fixed bug with final bosses not spawning on easy
Which is minimum GZDoom version requirements?
I believe that you'll need 4.1
Is there a chance for a no-zmovement version? I don't think I'm the only one who really doesn't like the movement style from it.
Yeah, I might remove it for the next version. There are some features I made using it though, but I can try a new way to do them.
Oh hey, btw, I've done the no z-movement version! Hopefully it's what you are looking for.
My childhood 🙂
Why does the Read Me file list a texture mod when it isn't in the zip? either this mod doesn't come with textures or the creator somehow didn't put them in the zip file before uploading them here
Hi there! The textures are in a separate download. Here is the link for them: Moddb.com
I kept them separate to reduce file size, and to allow you to choose to use it or not. I guess I could update the read me list to reduce confusion though.
